About the Credential

What the EBIP Represents

The EBIP is an advanced professional credential in applied behavioural intelligence for senior leadership and organisational contexts.

The Executive Behavioural Intelligence Practitioner credential recognises advanced competency in integrating behavioural intelligence into executive strategy, complex organisational environments, and high-stakes decision-making. It is the senior-level credential within GIB Division III and is intended for practitioners whose work extends beyond foundational behavioural assessment to encompass strategic application at the highest institutional levels.

The EBIP builds upon the Division III competency framework established by the CLBA and extends it to encompass the complexity of executive environments: board and C-suite dynamics, large-scale organisational transformation, multi-stakeholder behavioural analysis, and the integration of behavioural intelligence into strategic planning and governance processes.

At Level III (Master Educator), the EBIP additionally recognises assessed capability in programme design, peer supervision, and the structured transfer of behavioural intelligence competency to others — making it the appropriate credential for senior faculty, leadership development professionals, and practitioners who train or mentor others in Division III competencies.

The EBIP is not a clinical or therapeutic qualification and does not confer consulting accreditation. It is a professional development credential assessed against GIB's published Division III standards for advanced practice.

Candidate Profiles

Who the EBIP Is For

The EBIP is designed for senior practitioners operating at the intersection of behavioural intelligence and executive leadership.

C-Suite Executives

Senior executives applying behavioural intelligence to strategic decisions, board dynamics, executive team assessment, and organisational leadership at the highest institutional levels.

Executive Coaches

Senior coaching professionals working at C-suite and board level, managing complex behavioural dynamics and integrating advanced behavioural intelligence frameworks into high-stakes coaching engagements.

Senior Organisational Consultants

Consultants advising on large-scale culture transformation, M&A integration, and high-stakes organisational change, where advanced behavioural intelligence competency is required to navigate complex systemic and interpersonal dynamics.

Strategic HR Leaders

CHRO and VP-level HR practitioners shaping enterprise talent strategy, organisational behaviour, and executive succession, who apply behavioural intelligence frameworks at the level of institutional design.

Leadership Development Faculty

Senior L&D professionals and business school faculty delivering evidence-based leadership programmes. Particularly relevant for Level III (Master Educator), which recognises assessed capability in knowledge transfer and programme design.

Certification Levels

EBIP Levels

The EBIP is available at two advanced levels, corresponding to GIB's Specialist and Master Educator designations.

Level II
Specialist

Advanced application of behavioural intelligence in complex organisational and executive contexts. Level II candidates demonstrate the ability to conduct sophisticated multi-stakeholder behavioural analysis, advise on executive dynamics, and integrate behavioural frameworks into strategic decision-making processes at senior institutional levels.

Level III
Master Educator

Specialist competency plus assessed capability in programme design and knowledge transfer. Level III candidates demonstrate not only advanced behavioural intelligence practice but also the ability to design, deliver, and quality-assure leadership behavioural intelligence programmes for other practitioners — including curriculum design, peer mentoring, and professional supervision.

Frequently Asked Questions

EBIP FAQs

Do I need to hold the CLBA before applying for the EBIP?
Holding the CLBA Level I credential is recommended but not mandatorily required. Applicants who do not hold the CLBA must demonstrate a minimum of 24 months substantive professional experience in a senior role involving the applied use of behavioural intelligence frameworks. GIB's admissions team will assess all applications individually. Candidates who are uncertain about their eligibility are encouraged to submit an enquiry prior to formal application.
What distinguishes the EBIP from the CLBA?
The CLBA assesses practitioner-level and specialist-level competency in behavioural analysis within leadership and organisational contexts. The EBIP is a senior credential that extends this framework to executive strategy, complex multi-stakeholder environments, and high-stakes institutional contexts. The EBIP also includes an extended case analysis component at all levels and, at Level III, assesses capability in knowledge transfer and programme design — competencies not assessed by the CLBA.
What does Level III (Master Educator) assess?
Level III assesses all advanced practice competencies of Level II, plus demonstrated capability in the design, delivery, and quality assurance of leadership behavioural intelligence programmes. This includes curriculum design informed by the GIB Division III framework, peer supervision and mentoring of less experienced practitioners, and the ability to articulate and transmit advanced behavioural intelligence competency in structured professional development contexts. Evidence of relevant training or mentoring activity is required as part of the Level III application.
How does the EBIP case analysis differ from other GIB examinations?
The EBIP extended case analysis is designed to reflect the complexity of senior executive contexts. Candidates are required to analyse multi-stakeholder scenarios involving executive behaviour, organisational dynamics, and strategic decision-making, and to demonstrate the application of advanced behavioural intelligence frameworks to these scenarios. The case analysis is assessed by the GIB examination board against published EBIP criteria, with particular attention to analytical rigour, ethical reasoning, and professional communication standard.
Can I hold both the CLBA and the EBIP?
Yes. Many senior practitioners hold both Division III credentials, reflecting their progression through the GIB certification pathway. The CLBA and EBIP are complementary credentials within Division III, with the EBIP recognising the additional advanced competency required at executive and Master Educator level. Candidates who hold both credentials maintain renewal obligations for each independently in accordance with GIB renewal requirements.
