Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Global Institute of Behavior?
GIB is an independent certifying body in applied behavioural science. We develop competency-based examination standards and issue professional credentials to practitioners who demonstrate the required level of attainment through our independent assessment process. GIB is not a training provider — training is delivered by accredited partner organizations.
Who can apply for GIB certification?
GIB certifications are open to professionals working in behavioural analysis, investigative interviewing, organizational behaviour, leadership development, HR, clinical settings, and related fields. Eligibility requirements vary by certification level and division. See the Admissions Enquiries page for full eligibility criteria.
What are the certification levels?
GIB offers three credential levels: Level I — Practitioner (foundational applied competency), Level II — Specialist (advanced professional practice), and Level III — Master Educator (senior-level expertise and instructional authority). Certification is organized across five specialist divisions. Full details are available on the Admissions Enquiries page.
How does the examination process work?
Candidates complete an application, undertake preparation with a GIB-approved training organization or through self-directed study against the published competency framework, and then sit a formal examination administered by GIB or an approved assessment centre. Examinations are conducted under standard conditions with independent marking. Successful candidates receive a GIB credential with a unique reference number.
How do I verify a GIB credential?
Credential verification is available through the Verify a Credential function available in the site navigation. For full verification enquiries or to confirm a credential not listed in the demonstration registry, contact the GIB registrar at enquiries@globalbehavior.org.
Where can I find a GIB-approved training provider?
A directory of GIB-approved training organizations is maintained on the Approved Training Organizations page. These organizations have been formally assessed against GIB curriculum and delivery standards and are authorized to prepare candidates for GIB examinations.
What can I do with a GIB credential?
GIB credentials are professional development qualifications recognized by practitioners in public-sector, corporate, academic, and clinical contexts as evidence of assessed behavioural science competency. Certified professionals may reference their GIB credentials in professional contexts in accordance with the Institute's branding and ethics policies. GIB credentials do not confer government authority or operational clearance of any kind.
Does GIB offer programmes for organizations?
Yes. GIB offers institutional engagement for organizations wishing to credential teams or establish a structured behavioural science capability. This includes group assessment arrangements, recognized organizational programmes, and approved training provider pathways. See the For Organizations page for details.

Professional Standards for Candidates

GIB operates an independent code of professional conduct applicable to all credential holders and candidates. Candidates are expected to approach training and assessment with professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.

Certified professionals who misrepresent the scope of their credential or misuse behavioural methods in professional contexts may be subject to review and withdrawal of certification. Full standards are published on the Governance & Ethics page.
