Nature of GIB Credentials

Important: GIB certifications are professional education and competency credentials. They represent the completion of a structured assessment process administered by an independent examination board. They do not constitute government licensing, regulatory authorisation, clinical qualification, or operational authority of any kind.

The Global Institute of Behavior is an independent professional certification body. GIB credentials are issued to practitioners who have successfully completed an approved preparation programme and passed the relevant competency examination under the Institute's assessment framework.

Credentials issued by the Institute are professional development qualifications. They evidence that the holder has met a defined standard of knowledge and competency in applied behavioral science, as assessed by GIB's independent examination board. They are not issued by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any government, statutory body, or national regulator.

What GIB Credentials Do Not Confer

The following are explicit limitations on the scope and authority of all GIB credentials. Credential holders must not represent their qualifications in a manner inconsistent with these limitations:

Appropriate Representation of Credentials

Credential holders are expected to represent their GIB qualifications accurately and in accordance with the GIB Code of Ethics and credential holder agreement. Acceptable representations include describing the credential by its full title (e.g., "Certified Behavioral Analyst, Level II — GIB"), referencing the credential in professional profiles, resumes, or correspondence, and noting the credential alongside an accurate description of what it represents.

Credential holders must not:

Misrepresentation of GIB credentials is a breach of the credential holder agreement and the Institute's Code of Ethics, and may result in credential review, suspension, or revocation.

Sector-Specific Notice

Government and Defence: Personnel in government, defence, and intelligence roles who hold GIB credentials should note that the credentials relate solely to demonstrated competency in behavioral science knowledge and analysis. They do not replace, supplement, or confer any agency-specific operational authority, security clearance, or mission-critical qualification. Enquiries from regulated sectors regarding applicable use of GIB credentials are welcomed at enquiries@globalbehavior.org.

Healthcare and Clinical Settings: GIB credentials in behavioral science are not clinical qualifications. They do not authorise psychological assessment, diagnosis, or treatment. Professionals working in regulated clinical settings should ensure that their GIB credential is represented alongside, and not in substitution for, any applicable clinical licensure.

Corporate and Human Resources: GIB credentials may be referenced in professional contexts to evidence competency-based training and assessment in behavioral analysis, interview practice, or related disciplines. They should be described accurately as professional credentials and not as professional licences or regulated qualifications.

Verification and Enquiries

Any party wishing to confirm the authenticity or current status of a GIB credential may submit a formal verification request to the Institute's registrar. Credential status is confirmed by reference to the Institute's registry and includes the credential holder's name, credential level, issue date, current status, and expiry date.
